‘General Hospital’ Legend Tristan Rogers Honored by Rick Springfield in Touching Tribute originally appeared on Parade.
Beloved rocker Rick Springfield appeared in about 200 episodes of General Hospital over the years, playing the character of Dr. Noah Drake. On August 15, he posted a beautiful message honoring one of his former General Hospital co-stars after learning of his death.
Tristan Rogers, who played Robert Scorpio on General Hospital for decades, died on August 15 at the age of 79. His death came a little less than a month after he publicly revealed he had lung cancer.
Both Springfield and Rogers were born in Australia, and Springfield reflected on that in his Instagram tribute note.
"Aussies are made of tough stuff but even tough stuff has its expiration date," Springfield wrote.
He continued, "Our friend Tristan Rogers, a charming, self deprecating, handsome and witty bloke from the Great Southern Lane went home today. Bless and keep your spirit Tristan."

Over 650 comments were left by fans on Springfield's post in less than 24 hours.
"So sad! I love Tristan Rogers. My heart breaks for all the lives he's touched," one fan wrote.
"Those were the absolute BEST days of GH. So sad he is gone. What a wonderful actor and part of the GH family he was. RIP Tristan, you will be missed," another fan shared.
General Hospital star Kristina Wagner, who worked with Rogers frequently throughout their days on the soap, commented, "Beautiful" on Springfield's post.
"Awwww man. He was one of my favorites. Always thought it was cool we had similar names and shared the same birthday," read someone else's comment.
"Wonderful words... he was truly loved and a great actor. I've been a fan for 45 years and he will be missed. Much love to his family and all his friends at GH and beyond," wrote another fan.
After Rogers' death was announced, General Hospital colleagues paid tribute to the deeply loved actor. Genie Francis and Kin Shriner mourned the death of their friend, as did others such as Emma Samms, Kimberly McCullough, John J. York, and Finola Hughes.
